Profile
Cuskinny is a shingle-and-sand beach on the Cobh road, set beside the Cuskinny Marsh nature reserve and looking out across the mouth of Cork Harbour.
It is a well-loved local spot for swimming and kayaking, with roadside and lay-by parking along the Cobh–Cuskinny road. The adjoining BirdWatch Ireland reserve, with its lake, reedbeds and woodland, gives the beach a strong conservation character and good birdwatching year-round. There is no lifeguard, so swim with care and mind the harbour currents.
Cuskinny is a sheltered, characterful alternative to the busier beaches further out the harbour.
