The Roaring Donkey is well known for its traditional music sessions on Wednesday nights (and quite a few Sundays) and for hosting up and coming musicians of all genres from rock and roll to cover versions. We are also avid rugby union supporters and show every live game we can with our order of love and devotion being Munster, Ireland and LaRochelle (don’t ask!).

We’re led to believe that there’s been a trading bar on the site of The Roaring Donkey since the 1880’s. Located at Top of the Hill in Cobh, it was known as “The First and Last” for many years as it was the first pub you came to as you entered Cobh, and the last one as you left.

Couldn’t think of a better pub in Cobh, the staff are so friendly and welcoming. Wednesday nights with traditional Irish music is a must

The Donkey is a great pub with very friendly staff and patrons, so you can feel comfortable even if going solo!
I love the gigs there, especially The Hollyz
