In Cobh partners with Cross River Ferries to deliver live service status updates.

Residents, commuters and visitors who rely on the Cross River Ferry service can now access real-time operational updates thanks to a new collaboration between In Cobh and Cross River Ferries.

The new live status feature allows users to instantly see whether the ferry is running or paused due to weather or operational conditions. The service includes:

  • Live service status
  • Reasons for disruption (when applicable)
  • Estimated resumption times
  • Map showing ferry position
  • integrated Met Éireann weather warnings for Cork (when active)

Improving access to everyday information

The ferry is an essential part of life in Cobh, used daily by working commuters, children travelling to school, and visitors.

“With ferries, weather, visibility, and harbour activity can all play a role. Giving users simple, accurate information makes a real difference,” said a representative from Cross River Ferries.

Built for the community

Designed and maintained by In Cobh, the new status system is part of a wider effort to support local services and provide tools that make life easier for people who live in the area.

“In Cobh exists to connect, support and inform our community,” said the platform’s founder. “Providing reliable, real-time information is a practical way to help people plan their day and reduce uncertainty.”

The ferry status feature joins a growing list of community resources on In Cobh, including business listings, events, weather information, places to eat, and things to do.

Where to access it

The live status is now available at:

In Cobh’s goal is to actively contribute to the local community by making useful information easier to access, rather than simply reporting on it.
