Mixed Instrument Workshop for Young Musicians (U18) with Joanne Quirke
Join us for a friendly and encouraging Mixed Instrument Workshop specifically designed for younger musicians. Led by the accomplished educator and performer Joanne Quirke, this session is a key part of the Cobh Trad Fest 2026, delivered in partnership with the Cork ETB School of Music.
About the Instructor Joanne Quirke is a highly experienced flute, tin whistle, and fiddle player from Cork city. A graduate of University College Cork, she holds multiple Senior All-Ireland titles and the prestigious Sean O Riada memorial award. As a qualified Music teacher with the TTCT teaching qualification, Joanne has tutored many students to All-Ireland success and has toured extensively across the globe, including Japan and the UAE. She recently released her debut album, ‘Twas Many a Wild Night.
Player Suitability & Skill Level
- Target Audience: Younger players (Under 18).
- Requirements: Participants should be able to play some tunes but may still be developing their pace and confidence.
- Focus: This is a fantastic opportunity for younger players to learn new tunes and get comfortable playing with others in a supportive, friendly environment.
The Schedule – Saturday, 25th July 2026
- Session Time: 1 hour and 15 minutes (from 10:00 AM).
- Workshop Showcase Performance: All participants are warmly invited to perform from 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM at Cobh Library.
