Serpentine at SIRIUS
Serpentine is an ensemble based between Cork and New Orleans, directed by MaeDea Farrell
Moon. They sing seasonal thresholds, opening relational spaces between human and more-than-human worlds. Their voices carry lament, devotion, frenzy and joy, tending to memory and belonging through incantatory vocalisations.
Serpentine creates performances that weave together embodied voice, ritual, folklore, and
animistic traditions, exploring themes of healing, memory, and belonging. On their third tour of Ireland, they present Singing the Body Sovereign, a new performance celebrating the body, community, and nature as interconnected sites of sovereignty and relationship.
